What is EMS? EMS, or Energy Management System, is a software-based control system designed to monitor, manage, and optimize the performance of electrical systems — especially those integrating storage, renewables, and grid power. It serves as the brain of a BESS, ensuring all energy flows are coordinated, efficient, and responsive to grid demands.
This enables the EMS to make intelligent decisions on when to charge or discharge a battery, when to use locally-generated solar energy or draw power from the grid, and how to constantly optimize energy management strategies to accommodate the three D’s of the new energy era – digitization, decarbonization, and decentralization.
The EMS storage solution is a system designed to store more than 1000 kg H2 at a nominal working pressure of 500 bar. It contains high-strength lightweight composite (CFRP) pressure vessels (type 4) which will be embedded in standard containers to serve at H2 fueling stations.
